Welcome to the homepage of Vernon Township High School's Viking Robotics FRC Team 1989 and Viking Robotic Raiders FTC Team 4263. Founded in 2007, we are the first public school in Sussex County, New Jersey to participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition, and are one of many teams in the FIRST Tech Challenge.
Placing 4th in the qualifying matches out of 66 teams and being the fourth seed team in the semi-finals, I'd say we did awesome at the New York City Regional this year even though we were eliminated at the end. Footage of the event will be shown on channel 12 in the future. Team 1989 showed the robot off at Glen Meadow Middle School, and the kids loved it.
Again, Congratulations to Martin Phelan, Kevin Acker, and Peter Giannini, this year's team captains, on a job well done!
Monty Madness is on the way (May 21) and we are ready to destroy the competition!
The 2011 FRC Season is here, and we are getting a move on the building and designing. There are less than three weeks left of the season for the Viking Robotics Team. For a description of the game, visit the link below on LOGOMOTION!
We now have a new FIRST Tech Challenge team, 4263: The Viking Robotic Raiders! We will be competing in the 2010-2011 game, "Get Over It!", along with our veteran FRC team.
We've finally gotten around to updating the member list for 2011! Click the "Read More..." link to view an archived list of team members from 2009 FRC season. The list of members from the 2010 FRC season will be posted soon.
Note to new editors: Next time please be sure to copy the old list of team members to a new article before you erase and list the new ones!
FTC robot has been uploaded with programmed templates. It is capable of being driven and controllers have been connected. Driving controls will be modified and bluetooth will be up and running shortly.
